Aloha!
My name is Courtney Tipton. Many people know and call me by my nickname- “Coco”, which was given to me by my oldest brother who could not pronounce my name, so thus the name was born and the name I have grown to love. I was born and raised in Utah, but my roots are from Hawaii. However, I may be one of the few Polynesian's with dark features and light blue eyes, thus why people have to take a second glance at me when I tell them I'm Hawaiian. My interests involve wake-surfing, ice skating, skiing, scuba-diving, traveling, going to the movies, photography, and snuggling with my handsome husband. Currently, I work as an Orthopedic Surgical Cover Rep and cover surgeries in hospitals in the Utah Valley area. I also own a wedding and portrait photography business called, “Coco Portraits.” (Named after my nickname “Coco”)
I have a strong passion for loving and caring for others, thus what brought me into the nursing field. I am currently a third-year UVU nursing student and love my cohort! My career goals involve becoming a mother. This is my ultimate goal, however I plan to pursue my dreams of becoming a Labor/Delivery nurse and to continue to build my photography business.
Now that I have introduced myself a little, I wanted to express the purpose of this blog. This blog will be used as a reflective journal that I may be able to freely share thoughts, questions, and things I have learned throughout my career as a student nurse and nurse. My hope with this journal is that I will be able to reflect back on my past learning experiences to help push me to continue to learn and grow as a professional and individual.
So, WELCOME to A Day in the Life of an Overworked Nursing Student!
-Courtney
Ps: This is my Husband Jake. He is a real hottie. ;)
